Waalk is made by one person in Perth, Australia. It connects your walking pad to your iPhone and writes your walks to Apple Health. This page explains what the app touches and what it does not.

What Waalk stores on your iPhone

• Walk records: start and end times, belt distance, elapsed time, estimated steps, and per minute samples. These stay on your iPhone so a walk can be retried into Health if a save fails.
• Settings: your stride length, body weight if you enter one, your daily step goal, and the remembered pad.

Apple Health

With your permission, Waalk writes Indoor Walk workouts, step samples, walking distance, and active energy to Apple Health, and reads your body weight and daily step totals to show your goal. Health data never leaves your device through Waalk. Waalk does not read other apps' workouts, and it never rewrites data written by other sources.

Bluetooth

Waalk uses Bluetooth only to talk to your walking pad. Nothing about your pad or your walks is sent anywhere.

Head to head challenges

If you choose to create or join a challenge, the challenge code, the name you type, the challenge window, and your step total for that window are stored in iCloud so the other person can see the score. This uses your own iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. Waalk has no server of its own and cannot see this data.

What Waalk does not do

• No Waalk account. There is nothing to sign up for.
• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, no third party SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of data with anyone.

Purchases

The unlock is an in-app purchase handled by Apple. Waalk sees only whether the purchase exists, never your payment details.

Contact

Questions about privacy or the app go through the support form. There is no email address to harvest and no tracking on that form either.
